Shetland Triangle Shawl

I just finished this, out of yarn that I spun myself. I'm so proud of it that I could just about explode. I'm pretty sure that most of the neighbors would think I'm weird if I went door to door with it, though, so I'm showing you. I'll be bringing it to knit club on Saturday, for everyone to ooh and aah over it. I think from now on, I'm only going to use handspun yarn to knit with (just kidding, I have a huge stash that would be very upset if I did this).

Woohoo!

The new back door is in and the trim is done on both the back and front doors!  I have no words to express my joy over this situation.  Must go do happy dance now.  Pictures later.

It's about 30 miles away from my parents new place in Montana. When we left, I asked Dan if he wanted to cross the border quick, so that we could say we'd been in all three states that day. Unfortunatley, he didn't care that much about Idaho, so we just went home instead. Maybe next time, Idaho. I'm sure that you're a good state.

Gingerpeachy BFL

Our trip.

Our trip to Montana was lovely. Dan took a lot of amazing photos while on a ATV trip into the mountains with my dad and grampa. I'll share some more of those with you all later this week. I'll also be posting some pictures of the yarn I scored on Ravelry this morning sometime.

We had a great time, saw lots of family members and really cool looking sites. I even drove past the studio for Mountain Colors yarns while on my way to Missoula to shop. More later.

We're back!

Man, you should see the Ravelry messages I have to catch up on.  It might take me the rest of my vacation.  Well, better unpack and I'll post some cool pictures later.  Oh, and I'll tell you all about the shopping.  Mmmm, wool.

Never give up the dream. If you can nag him, he can do it! Happy Labor Day!

Some light reading.

I should have been knitting, or even spinning, for the Ravelympics this past week. Instead, I decided to see what all the hubbub was about and picked up Twilight. I got hooked and spent last week reading the entire series. Good stuff, highly recommended if you enjoy a good vampire tale or love story, or better yet, the two combined.

Now that I'm done, and have nothing to read, maybe I can get back to my knitting.

I can't wait for vacation!

Not too long from now, I'll be on vacation in a place that looks like this. Yay! We've had some interesting news here. Dan and I are going to be grandparents. Cool trick to be a grandma and not even be a mother! Dan's daughter is pregnant, and that leaves lots of things in the air right now for her future. It's a big set-back, considering that she was just getting her life on the right track. Things will work themselves out, though, so I'm not too worried about it.

In knitting news, it's looking like I'm not going to finish the KH cardigan by the end of the olympics.  I do have to credit the Ravelympics for getting me going on it though.  I just bought those really expensive buttons for it and expect them to arrive soon.  That ought to give me the extra motivation to finish it up.

Break time.

I'm supposed to be either knitting or spinning for the Ravelympics right now, but I'm taking a break.   I want to show you someting.  Go here, please.  If you click on this link, it should take you to a picture of me and a group of Minot girls spinning and knitting at the Capitol A'fair.  We had a great time.   Yesterday was our first spinning club meeting, which came about due to several requests for one while spinning at the capitol.  It was a success and we plan to meet again next month.  I'm cooking up some ideas to help us expand and improve our spinning skills.  Hopefully they will be of interest to most of the group.  Well, off to pay bills, then back to the Ravelympic grind.

Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that the sweater is done, the sweater fits, I'm happy with it and the sweater is hot. Not wearing the sweater again until the weather gets much, much colder. Okay, off to knit the rest of Betsy's baby blankie.
